DuPont Scholarships

A DuPont scholarship is available in different forms through programs at individual universities and colleges. The international company offers very little in the way of DuPont scholarships itself but through partnerships and family members of the original founder programs are available. Because of the selective nature of these programs a DuPont scholarship tends to be highly competitive and getting access to an award will not always be easy. This is a classic unknown scholarship because scholarship details are hard to come by. That being said, students with the interest, academic achievement and ability to keep an eye on upcoming programs may find themselves handily covered with a decent amount of financial aid.

Unknown scholarships from DuPont linked more directly with the company itself tend to lean towards chemical or engineering degrees while those DuPont scholarships offered through foundations built around family of the company’s founder tend to get more general in their degree requirements. Students who are interested in a DuPont company scholarship should understand that these programs are relatively rare and, should one exist, it will likely be through an individual academic institution. While other programs may pop up from time to time, the programs that currently exist are relatively limited in scope.

Students who are attending the William and Mary Law School will find that they have access to a DuPont scholarship. This program is funded through the DuPont Scholarship fund and awards a varying amount to students who are attending the school only. As the program is offered through the school itself, students will need to fill out a scholarship application form available at the office of financial aid and submit it. Those students who meet the eligibility requirements for the program will be enrolled automatically for consideration in the selection process. The William and Mary Law School is very vague about eligibility for scholarships on their website, so interested applicants should consult with their financial aid office for more information.

John Tyler Community College in Virginia offers a DuPont scholarship through the Spruance Plant Endowed program. The money for this DuPont scholarship was received through funds raised by employees at the Spruance Plant and will be available for the next couple of years. In order to be eligible for this program, students will need to complete a scholarship application at the college, be a full time student, be enrolled in an engineering technology program and maintain at least a 2.7 grade point average. Beyond these requirements students must also be able to demonstrate financial need. All application material must be submitted along with the main scholarship form given to the office of financial aid at Tyler Community College.

The Society of Women Engineers offers a DuPont college scholarship, one of the only nationally available programs, to at least two recipients every year. Eligibility for this program requires that the applicant be a woman, be enrolled in an engineering or computer science degree program, have at least a 3.0 grade point average, not currently be receiving another renewable SWE scholarship and be a full time student. This DuPont scholarship awards $1,000 to students who are at least sophomores all the way up to the senior grade level. Beyond this students will only be able to apply the scholarship at schools located on the United States’ eastern seaboard or Midwestern region. Though all DuPont scholarships for 2011 have been disbursed, the 2012 application year will open to new applicants in December.

Little known DuPont scholarships are rare and, should a student manage to locate one they can apply for, it may be difficult to get. Despite the rarity of these programs applicant rates are going to be fairly high as engineering is a very commonly sought degree in the US. This should not deter interested applicants from applying and those students who have had a successful academic career should feel very comfortable submitting their applications. Because of the rarity of these programs students should not expect a DuPont scholarship and, after applying to those programs they are eligible for, move on to other sources of concrete financial aid.

Oracle Scholarships

There is a number of unknown Oracle scholarships made available by this international information technology company. A provider of database programming, various software analysis packages and server storage systems, it should come as no surprise that available programs are very often focused on engineering within the IT field. However there are numerous other little known Oracle scholarships for IT available for applicants from a diverse background with interests in things such as working towards some sort of community development.

Students who are looking for an Oracle scholarship for IT should be weary – there are many programs which can be found available on the internet which may not be currently available. Also because of the notoriety of the company, some false scholarships even exist which may direct interested students to false phishing websites looking for personal information or installing malware on a computer. It will be important for students to look through Oracle scholarships for IT that occur in partnerships with other organizations. There are some programs which are offered directly by the company itself, but these Oracle scholarships appear to be normally related to summer internships or Oracle Academy programs. Always be careful when applying to programs and be sure that they are applicable in a given situation.

The United Negro College Fund provides Oracle scholarships in partnership with company. The Oracle Community Impact Scholarship appears to be currently available in California at UNCF member colleges. This unknown scholarship from Oracle provides anywhere between $5,000 and $10,000 to those applicants who win awards. It is designed to help those students who can display a sincere financial need and who are interested in using technology to advance education, strengthen communities or promote diversity. Another partnership which has produced Oracle scholarships for IT is the Black Data Processing Associates program. This Oracle scholarship is one of several programs available through the BDPA. Though the 2011 awards have already been given out, students who are members of the BDPA should pay attention to upcoming announcements regarding the program. The program awards $4,000 and $5,000 in Oracle scholarships depending on need and in 2011 gave out 11 different rewards. No deadline is currently listed for the 2012 program, but this yearly offered Oracle educational award will be available in the upcoming year.

There are other lessor known Oracle scholarships offered through some groups or even institutions. The National Society of Black Engineers offered an Oracle scholarship in 2010 and 2011, though there is no indication that a similar program will be offered in 2012. However there is also no suggestion that the program is limited and, as a result, students would be wise to pay attention to the NSBE website to see if a 2012 application process is announced. Eligibility for this program requires that students be US citizens, a member of the NSBE, maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average, be a high school senior or currently enrolled in college, be majoring in some type of engineering and be attending a school in the US. Every year so far five $4,000 scholarships have been awarded and the deadline for the program is normally on January 17.

Egyptian students who may be interested in Java programming may be interested in a program offered through the Communications and Information Technology Academy. A collaborative program with Oracle makes an Oracle scholarship program available at this college every year. All applicants must be Egyptian nationals, understand English, have a strong academic background and be committed to 20 hours of training a week until graduation from the program. This Oracle college scholarship for IT does not list an amount of what is covered and also does not list a deadline for the program, but Egyptian students interested in the Oracle scholarship program are encouraged to contact the institution to find out more about the offering.

Unknown College Scholarships for Adopted Children

Unknown college scholarships for adopted children are available but not in abundance like other larger well known scholarship programs. Scholarships are open and available for people of many backgrounds and students from any demographic should always consider where they stand in the world to specifically look for programs which they may be eligible for. This is true in many cases – scholarships exist for women, minority ethnics, refugees – the list goes on. These unknown college scholarships for adopted kids are one of these many categories, and can often be useful for students who have been in the foster system or were orphaned in their youth that need to find additional funding for their college education.

These adoption scholarships often run a range of criteria, so students should be vigilant in reviewing the eligibility requirements of various programs, but in all likelihood there is a program available for students from many different adopted or foster backgrounds. Students coming from foster or adopted homes should not be ashamed of their past but embrace the fact that they have achieved a good deal in their lives as is indicated by being able to now apply for college. Programs which offer college scholarships for adopted children are a great way to find funding for those students who have risen above their past troubles and have become strong members of their community. While they are competitive in nature, any student who has had the tenacity to lead in their school or achieve strong academic marks should consider applying to multiple programs to better maximize their funding opportunities.

One of the more commonly applied for little known scholarships for adopted children comes from the National Foster Parent Association (NFPA). While award amount vary year by year due to donations available from NFPA members and those outside of the organization, this program does what it can to provide financial assistance to those students who have been adopted or who have spent their lives in foster care. Students interested in this adoption scholarship for children should be in their last year of high school and be preparing to attend an accredited college. They will need to have a copy of their transcripts and be able to show a financial need. Apart from filling out the application, all interested students will have to write a personal statement about why they want to continue their education in college and get two letters of recommendation from people they have worked with or who know them personally. Deadline for this scholarship is March 31, 2011 and all material must be submitted by that date. Of course the NFPA is not the sole source of obscure scholarships for adopted children, and many students will want to continue searching for available programs.

The Orphan Foundation of America offers several unknown college scholarships for adopted kids which will be useful for potential applicants to review. Amongst them is the Casey Family Scholars Program which is available to adopted children who have spent at least 12 consecutive months in a foster program during the course of their lives. It offers up to $10,000 to students who are selected to receive an award which can go a long way towards funding one’s education. Students interested in this program will need to assess their financial status as they must be eligible for Pell Grants from the United States Government and must be under the age of 25. While US citizenship is not required to apply for the program, applicants must have been placed into foster care while living in the country. The deadline for this program is March 31, 2011.

The Orphan Foundation of America directly offers their own little known about scholarship for adopted children called the OFA Scholarship, and it follows many of the same guidelines of the Casey Family Scholars Program. Students who would like to consider this program will need to have been in foster care for at least 12 months in a row, are able to get a Pell Grant and be under the age of 25. Applications for this adoption scholarship program are also due no later than March 31, 2011.

The George Marshall scholarships help U.S. students understand contemporary Britain and enable them to contribute to the advancement of knowledge in many fields such as science, humanities and creative arts within the British center of academic excellence.

The History behind the Unknown Marshall Scholarship

The Marshall scholarships Program was created in order to support young citizens of the United States to study in the excellent British higher education system. In itself, the Marshall scholarship commemorates General George C. Marshall and the Marshall plan of humane ideals and proves continuously UK’s gratitude towards the United States and its students. This UK scholarship is unknown to most and is administered by the Marshall Commission in the name of the Foreign Commonwealth Office, whereas the selection process that takes place in the U.S. is being manages by Consulates General in various states and by the British Council in Washington DC.

Apart from enabling U.S.’s future leaders, today’s students, to study in distinguished British institutions, the scholarships offered by the Marshall Commission also strive to motivate American scholars towards acting as ambassadors and strengthening the understanding between the two countries, their institutions and population. These Marshall scholarships help promote and fulfill the personal and academic needs of every scholar who benefits from them.

A Closer Look into the Marshall Scholarship Commission

The Marshall scholarships are awarded only to U.S. citizens who hold an undergrad degree given by accredited 4-year universities or colleges located in the United States. U.S. students who want to apply for a Marshal scholarship Program need to have a GPA of at least 3.7 or higher in order to be eligible. This unknown scholarship for UK studies is only given to students who have successfully graduated from college or university after April 2005, and who have studied previously in a British University, regardless if they’ve received a degree or not.

Marshall scholarships awarded each year to U.S. students round around 40 in number and are available for any university in the United Kingdom. These UK scholarships can only cover a period of two years of study, regardless of the discipline chosen by the student. Generally, the Marshall scholarship is destined to graduate levels after which the U.S. students get a British university degree.

The Marshall scholarship’s value tends to vary depending on the university chosen by each beneficiary. However, they cover everything starting from university fees, to annual book and thesis grants, daily travel and research grants, travelling from and to the U.S., living expenses costs for the student and, depending on each case, a contribution towards supporting a student’s dependent spouse. On the average, Marshall scholarships amount about £20,000.

Students looking to apply to the Marshall scholarships program must know that there are no restrictions with regard to the subject of study. Moreover, this UK scholarship is available for any university located in the United Kingdom, and the duration for the traditional scholarship is two academic years, 22 months respectively. However, on the basis of certain students who pursue doctorate at British universities, various extensions can be granted by the Marshall Commission, which do not exceed another academic year and a total of three academic years respectively.

Apart from the 2-year scholarships, 1-year Marshall scholarships are also available. The latter, however, cannot be extended for another year or two. Candidates need to send in applications to their regional centers in the United States in the early month of October of the year preceding tenure.

U.S. students who wish to study in the UK and have all their fees and living costs covered can apply for a Marshall scholarship for UK studies. Although the application process might not be so complicated, the selection process is extremely rigorous so that the Marshall Commission can make sure that all scholars who are awarded scholarships can benefit greatly from them and have a taste of the British life and academic experience.

Volunteer Scholarships Unknown

volunteering scholarships

Volunteer scholarships

Volunteering for college scholarships doesn’t occur to most students looking for financial aid but you could possibly get unknown volunteer scholarships from it in a round about sort of way. When your guidance counselor talks to you about college and college applications, you may hear terms such as ‘service project’ or ‘community involvement.’ This is because things such as this are not only important for getting into the college of your choice, but also for getting those unknown college volunteering scholarships that you need.

While participating in service projects and in your community is important for entrance into college and for undiscovered scholarship applications. Volunteering in this way can also open additional little known scholarship opportunities that few other people are privy to. Many volunteer organizations offer to those who volunteer for their organization, and you should definitely be on the lookout for these volunteer scholarship opportunities.

At the same time, however, the people that you will meet in your work will also open you up to potential secret scholarships. Get to know the adults that you are volunteering with in your service project or in your community. The chances are very good that they are either business people, or have connections to business people in the community. Those connections can be tapped for college funds.

The more these people see you volunteering in your community, the more open they will be to recommending you to their contacts for unfamiliar scholarship funds. In some cases, they will contact other friends and actually raise money to help pay for your college education. Of course, this means that you have to work really hard at the service project and at these relationships if you want this to happen.

You also need to let them know your circumstances, without asking for funds. They need to be aware of the fact that you cannot pay for college unless you get some unnamed scholarship funds. They need to know that you are looking for those funds and that you are trying to help yourself, before they will be willing to do anything to help you as well.

It’s even better if you volunteer in a field that somehow relates to the program that you plan to study in college. In this way, you will most likely make contact with the real shakers and movers in that field, within your community, which then makes the potential for unknown scholarships even greater.

In some cases, you will be told about specific scholarships that you should apply for, and in other cases, you may find that you are simply presented with the funds that you need for college. These funds may be paid directly to you, or directly to the school that you will attend, and this is up to the person or people who are donating the funds to help you pay for school.

In the end, the only thing that these volunteer organizations and others in your community will ask of you in return is that you do well in school, and that you use your education to aid their cause in the future, after you have graduated – or that you pass on the good fortune that you have found to another deserving student in the future. This is how to tap little known volunteer scholarships for college.

Random Drawing Scholarships Unknown

Random Drawing Scholarships

Drawing Scholarships

If you search online for unknown scholarships on any Internet search engine, you’ll find some of those search results has something called drawing scholarships or random scholarship drawings. You click on some to find that it seems legitimate, and apply to some in the hopes that you get something good out of it. You don’t have a whole lot to lose except your time – or maybe your privacy.

Just like millions of other students with a PC and the Internet, this seems like a very delightful and worthwhile attempt at cutting down your college tuition and personal cost. Money is hard to come by for a college student, especially when college cost so much today. Any student who knows how hard it is to scrape for cash despite having a job will not pass this opportunity. It’s too tempting and easy to apply for. But is it real? Is it worth the opportunity and risk? How can you tell if it’s a scam for companies to possibly steal your money, information or identity? Or are you just being too cautious to the point of being paranoid.

Random Drawing Scholarships: Clear Signs of a Winner
These scholarship drawings, also called lotteries, scholarship contests, scholarship sweepstakes and giveaways, have several points which you should consider very carefully. The first one is the company or school that is sponsoring or holding the contest. With different schools popping up with the search, make sure to check the legitimacy of the school’s name, location, and student body. Should the websites look shoddy (poorly designed, bad grammar or spelling, even a lack of photos of the school to view), an expired web page or almost no recent updates, or yield no results at all, then you should click off and consider looking elsewhere?

Also, most popular searches have a certain cash “prize”, ranging from $25 USD up to $10K, even going, higher or lower than that. While it sounds very tempting to go for something like that, the school’s online and offline legitimacy will help you decide if you’re actually going to win anything after all those entries. To speak in favor of some of them, however, there are student lotteries that DO reward a large amount of money for your academic expenses. The best way to find out, of course, is to check if the school has the power to make such claims.

Let’s start simple. ANYONE is a qualified participant, since it does play out like a lottery or sweepstakes contest, where people submit a form to be randomly (I repeat, RANDOMLY) selected by either a computer program or a school official. The winning results will then either be announced in the school website or directly mailed to the very lucky recipient of the cash.

Another way to actually win these random scholarship drawings is a university or company will make a massive search in social networks, contacts, or even search engines, for people to select after scrutinizing their profile. This can be done online, and in the school, college, or institution itself, with officials making the announcement in public, or more subtly by contacting the winner.

Who Benefits from Schools Drawing Scholarships Anyway?
The spectrum of drawing scholarships aren’t just for students, either; single parents, social workers, employees, military personnel… the list would go on. The companies’ goals are primarily to promote education among those who do not have the opportunity to make it on their own; these drawing scholarships, when genuine, are a boon to both winner and sponsor (who gets promoted everywhere, of course).

The institution rarely takes into account the winner’s academic profile, or their capacity as a working scholar, but they do keep a very close watch over these winners once it’s been announced. While it is rare for the sponsor to back out at any flaw the winner shows in using the cash (or the fame), there will be circumstances that force the university or the companies involved to take back what cash remains unspent.

Bottom line on Scholarship Drawings
The next time you stumble across a scholarship drawing online which will happen if your looking for student financial aid – apply to it if it seems legitimate and doen’t ask for too much personal information. That can always be given if you win. There is no need to provide it on your initial submission. Look into well known companies sponsoring random drawing scholarships and apply to those and see how their process works so you get an idea how an authentic one is being conducted and use that as your gage for all the others you then apply for. You will become good at deciding which ones are real and which ones are screaming SCAM.

Check with every business in your local area for unknown automotive college scholarships, as they relate to the auto industry. This should include service centers of all types, car dealers, Auto Body and Paint Shops, Upholstery businesses, Garages, Motocycle shops, and anything else that you can think of as it relates to the automotive industry. You probably won’t know that little known car scholarship opportunities exist from these businesses unless you ask. Additionally, you should check with the college or trade school that you will be attending to see what related auto scholarships are offered specifically through the school, and only available for students of the school as well.
